Senior leadership, without the full-time hire.

CMOCTOCAIO

A marketing, technology, or AI leader placed inside your business part-time, with our whole in-house team behind them. You get the judgment of somebody who has done it before, at a fraction of what the seat costs, and none of the risk of a hire that does not work out. Since 2001, from Melville, NY, Boca Raton, FL, and soon Miami.

The Gap This Fills

Too big to wing it, too small to hire it.

There is a stretch most companies pass through where the decisions have outgrown the founder and the salary has not been earned yet. It usually ends one of two ways: nobody decides, or somebody expensive is hired to find out.

The Hire

A full seat, and a year to find out.

A senior hire is a large salary, a long search, and a bet you cannot check for months. If it is wrong, you have lost the year as well as the money, and you are back where you started with less appetite.

  • Salary, benefits, and equity
  • Months to search and onboard
  • One person’s experience, not a team’s
  • Expensive to reverse
The Fractional

The judgment, at the share you need.

Somebody senior in the business part-time, making the calls and owning the outcome, with a full in-house team behind them rather than one person’s bandwidth. You can widen it, narrow it, or stop.

  • A fraction of the seat
  • Working in weeks, not quarters
  • A team behind the individual
  • Ends without a severance conversation

We will tell you when you should just hire. If the work is genuinely full-time and the budget is there, a fractional arrangement is the more expensive answer dressed as the cheaper one, and we would rather say so on the first call.

Three Roles

Marketing, technology, and now AI.

Most engagements start with one. Companies that take a second usually do it because the first one kept running into a decision that belonged to somebody else.

Marketing

Somebody who owns the number.

Sets the strategy, decides where the budget goes, and answers for the result. Most companies that need one are past the point where the founder can keep doing it and short of the point where a full-time hire makes sense.

Technology

The technical judgment you cannot hire yet.

Architecture calls, build-versus-buy, security posture, and whether the quote in front of you is reasonable. The value is usually in what you are talked out of.

AI

A Chief AI Officer, before you need a full one.

Where AI actually pays in your business, what it must never touch, and what to do first. The newest of the three roles and the one most companies are currently guessing at.

Not Sure Which

Start with the assessment.

A fixed-scope read on where AI would pay in your business, what it must never touch, and what to do first. Many companies run this before deciding whether they need any of the three roles at all, and some leave with the reasoning and spend nothing else.
