Some projects you take on because they are interesting. Some you take on because the work matters. Rebuilding the website for Man Cave Health was both, and we have been grateful for every week of it.
Man Cave Health is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Oyster Bay, New York, working to change how men access healthcare, starting with prostate cancer. Its founder, Tom Milana, received an alarming PSA result on a routine blood test in 2015, had successful robotic surgery in 2016, and remains cancer-free. Seeing how little existed to help men through a diagnosis, his family turned the Milana Family Foundation’s mission toward giving men a comfortable place for prostate cancer education and testing. In 2018, Man Cave Health was born.
Today it brings free PSA blood tests to the places men already gather, from tailgates and racetracks to job sites and community events, runs mobile screening units it calls Van Caves with leading health systems, and hosts free virtual support groups for men and their families. The team reports more than 4,200 men screened to date. The new site went live on mancavehealth.org on November 5, 2026.

Built from their design
The Man Cave Health team came to us with a clear picture of what they wanted: a cleaner site with more emphasis on the Van Cave fleet and the virtual support groups. They had a design of their own, and our job was to build it properly. Every page follows that design, and every fact about Man Cave Health on the site comes from the team itself. Where something needed confirming, we asked rather than guessed.
One job per page
The site is organized around the things a man, or someone who cares about him, actually comes to do:
- Get Screened explains the PSA test in plain language: what it is, how the five-minute blood draw works, what happens after a normal or elevated result, and when to start the conversation with a doctor.
- The Van Cave shows the mobile screening units and the health systems that run each one, from Northwell Health on Long Island to UCI Health in Southern California.
- Support Group gives the times for the East Coast and West Coast groups and a direct way to join each one.
- Events lists upcoming screenings and fundraisers, and the past ones with their stories.
- News carries the organization’s own reporting, from 179 men screened at Pocono Raceway to the new Northwell Van Cave.
Donations that just work
For a nonprofit, the donate page is the page that pays for the screenings. Gifts run through Stripe, one-time or monthly, with an option to give in honor or in memory of someone, and every donor gets a receipt automatically. The team sees each gift in their own admin as it arrives.

A site the team runs
We built Man Cave Health an admin of its own. Their team reads every contact form message, sees every donation and the mailing list, and updates the figures the site shows. When the men-screened number goes up, they change it once and the website shows it within about a minute, with no developer involved.

Fast, findable and careful
The site is fast on a phone, and it is built so search engines and AI assistants can read who Man Cave Health is, what it offers, and where its events are. Every address from the old site redirects to its new home, so years of links still land somewhere useful.
Moving the domain also meant moving carefully. The organization’s email runs on the same domain, so we copied every mail record before the switch and confirmed afterward that each one was exactly as it had been, apart from a single correction the team asked us to make.
Thank you
A website is only as good as the people behind what it describes. Thank you to Tom Milana, Theresa Milana, Chris Masters, Jennifer Faust and the whole Man Cave Health team for trusting us with this, and for the work they do every week, at every tailgate, health fair and support group session.
If it has been a while since your last PSA test, or you have never had one, find a free screening or talk with your doctor. The test takes about five minutes. And if you would like to help put more Van Caves on the road, Man Cave Health would be glad to hear from you.
